A delightful brown sugar frosting with a rich, caramel-like flavor perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whip the brown sugar mixture with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until creamy and smooth.
  4. Use immediately on cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more milk for desired consistency.
