Delightful pastry filled with creamy cheese and fresh blueberries, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
  • 113 g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 150 g fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (about 400°F) and line your baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine the blueberries with cornstarch and lemon juice until well coated.
  4. Flour your counter generously and roll out the puff pastry sheet to approximately 30×40 cm and cut it into 8 equal pieces.
  5. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry piece, followed by a spoonful of the blueberry mixture.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create sealed packets and press the edges together.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, and brush this mixture over the top of the pastries.
  8. Bake for about 15-18 minutes until they are beautifully puffed and golden.
  9. Transfer the pastries to a wire rack to cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
