A comforting apple cobbler filled with sweet and tart apples, warm spices, and a golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Stir in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Pour the batter over the apples, covering them evenly.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and the apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of ice cream on top.

Notes

For added flavor, mix different apple varieties. Serve with ice cream or caramel sauce.
