A comforting dessert of tart apples topped with a crunchy oat crumble, perfect for autumn.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice. Place the apples in a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the prepared apples.
  5. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
