This simple marinade transforms chicken into a flavorful dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Place chicken breasts or thighs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  3. Marinate the Chicken: Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Seal or Cover: Seal the bag or cover the dish, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, ideally a few hours for maximum flavor.
  5. Preheat Your Cooking Surface: Preheat your grill or oven to prepare for cooking.
  6. Remove and Cook: Remove chicken from marinade and cook until fully cooked – about 6-7 minutes per side on the grill, or bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Rest and Serve: Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken the night before for intensified flavor. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
